Privacy Policy

This policy covers "Years Ago in Film Uploader" (the "App"), a private tool that uploads videos to the Years Ago in Film YouTube channel.

Who uses the App

Only the owner of the Years Ago in Film channel uses the App. It is not available to the public, and it never asks other people to sign in.

What data the App accesses

The App uses YouTube API Services. With the owner's permission, it requests one Google permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload. This allows it to upload videos, and set their titles, descriptions, and tags, on the owner's own channel.

The App does not read, collect, or store the owner's personal information, viewing history, subscribers, comments, or any other YouTube or Google account data. It does not access data about any other YouTube user.

How data is stored

The App stores one OAuth refresh token, which lets it upload on the owner's behalf. The token is kept as an encrypted secret in the owner's private GitHub repository and is used only to upload the channel's own videos. The App keeps a record of the videos it uploaded (date, movie, and YouTube video ID) so that it does not post the same topic twice.

Sharing

The App does not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. It does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.

Google and YouTube policies

By using YouTube API Services, the App is bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Revoking access

Access can be revoked at any time from the Google security settings page. After access is revoked, the stored token stops working and is deleted.
